Forced to flee their families and home many young boys from Southern Sudan survived lion attacks and militia gunfire to reach a refugee camp in Kenya. From there, remarkably, they were chosen to come to Australia. Safe at last from physical danger and hunger, a world away from home, they find themselves confronted with a completely different society.

The Sudanese Lost Boys Association of Australia will be hosting a women's conference late in the year. A meeting was recently held to discuss issues affecting Sudanese women currently in Australia. See the news section for more information and pictures. The SLBAA are currently looking for volunteers to assist with the conference and invite anyone interested to contact Ajak Mayor Nyariel for more information via ajak@lostboys.org.au.
